Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What does my child need to bring to camp?
A: Your child needs to bring the following items everyday: water bottle, tennis shoes, sandals/water shoes, sunscreen, insect repellant, sack lunch, pillow & blanket (if wanted, for quiet time), swim suit, towel. Select items may be left at Lazy Acres during the week. All personal items must go home on Friday.
Q: Camp hours are 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. What if I am running late?
A: The most important thing you can do is contact the Director at 281-356-8152 to notify us of your situation and status. Late pickup fees may apply.
Q: Are cell phones/personal electronics allowed at camp?
A: Yes. Electronics must remain off and in your child’s bag until the counselor specifically allows. Chargers are not allowed. Lazy Acres is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property.
Q: What should we pack for lunch?
A: A healthy and well-balanced lunch will provide your child with fuel for our active day. Refrigeration and microwave not provided.
Q: My child isn’t a strong swimmer. Will they be able to participate in pool time?
A: Yes! The Texas summer is hot and we want everyone to participate in a refreshing cool down. Every camper will be required to complete our lifeguard administered swim test before entering the pool without a life jacket.
Q: What are the session prices?
A: $140/child for the week, $120/child for 3 days, $100/child for 2 days. Tuition is due Monday mornings. Parents may pay for multiple weeks in advance. There is a onetime registration fee of $75 per family.
Q: What if my child becomes sick at camp?
A: All of our counselors are trained and certified in CPR & First Aid procedures. Parents will be notified by phone if your child becomes ill or injured. If your child is contagious or unable to participate in camp activities, they may be sent home. Children must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to camp.
Q: What are the lost & found procedures?
A: All personal property items must be labeled with your child’s first and last name. We will attempt to recover any missing items and hold them in lost & found. If any items are not claimed by August 15th, they will be donated to a charitable organization. Lazy Acres is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items.
Q: Do I need to send snacks?
A: Lazy Acres provides a morning and mid-afternoon snack every day. These snacks are included in tuition. If your child prefers to bring their own snack, they may.
